Shrek's nice little quiet home - is a swamp. Well, what else do you expect from a ogre? Anyway, in the first Shrek movie many fairy tale creatures were brought here by Lord Farquaad's soldiers as the mighty, yet small ruler of Duloc wanted to get rid of them. So to get his peace and quiet back and the Creatures out, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad: Shrek saves Princess Fiona for him and Shrek gets the deed to his swamp. Eventually, Shrek and Fiona fall in love with each other, defeat Farquaad and live happily ever after in this swamp. Well, save for the other three films, of course ...
Shrek's Swamp is Shrek's home stage (literally) and it's usually the arena you face him in. The Swamp is a Ground stage which means it's at the ground so you can't fall off it. Ruff said, the stage is symmetric. The middle of the stage consits of a small valley in which Shrek's house is. Above it, there is a platform which is permeable (you can slide through it if you press the control stick down and jump on it from beneath) attached to Shrek's house. At the right side, outside the valley, there's a pool with a machine: If you hit the button to the far left of the stage, you'll be showered in mud being slower and heavier than usual for a short amount of time. On the right side of the stage, again outside the valley, there's Shrek's toilet where you can be knocked in, just for laughter. Anyway, this stage is perfect to learn the standards of fighting in DAR as this stage his no other hazard than the mud shower.
- This is the first stage to be based upon Shrek
- This stage is first shown during the announcement trailer for DAR alongside Jade Palace, Area 5-Something and Freighter
